“Poignantly written with humor and honesty. Megan shares vulnerably and openly about her struggle to be a good mom, and ultimately Jesus’s daughter. I was chuckling along with her stories and welling up at her healing tale.”

Have you ever wanted to follow God’s call “no matter what…”

But the unknowns seemed scary and the risks felt great?  (Join the club!)  Many of us find it difficult to really live out our faith as we sit in the tension between worldly comfort and risky obedience. Perched in the delicate balance of this place, we have two choices

  1. Pull back from the invitation to whole-heartedly follow God, retreating to the coziness of our comfort zone.
  2. Bravely say “yes” because we hope and believe God has something more in store.

In A Beautiful Exchange, Megan unpacks the story of how she responded to God’s call to venture outside her comfort zone only to realize He was about to rearrange everything she thought she knew about life and love.  When the journey brought her to the end of herself, she wondered if life would ever return to normal.  Thankfully, God exchanged her short-sighted plan for a new, more beautiful “normal” — one drafted by His own hand.

Join Megan in her adventure of discovery as she digs deeper into what it means to experience the Kingdom of God and live into your true identity.  She proposes God’s highest calling is the same for each of us regardless of our unique places in the world.

Find a comfy spot and settle in for a compelling read, but don’t get too comfortable…

Following her journey just might lead you to discover one of your own!

You feel the stirring.

You’ve tried to dull it. Drown it out with busyness or rationale, but the hum in your heart won’t go away. God is knocking on the door. You can hear it. And you’re conflicted. You want to open the door and let him in. It is God after all! But what if the thing He’s asking you to do feels too big? Too scary? Like He’s picked the wrong person.

May I tell you, you’re not alone.

“This book is very well written! It combines humor, vulnerability, honesty, and a yearning for more. Megan’s story inspired me to think deeper, to challenge myself for more, to not be afraid of the hard, and to know that trusting God’s voice is of most importance. Highly recommend this book to anybody, adopting or not!”

“This book is great for anyone who wants to push out of their comfort zone and to see the hand of God work when you step out in faith.”

“This is about so much more than one family’s journey of adoption. It is about jumping into God’s invitation to trust him and see all that He has for you.”

I couldn’t put this book down! I read this book everyday at the gym – and what a motivator to not stay comfortable and to challenge yourself to say “yes” to the MORE of what God is inviting me into.”

Meet the author

My name is Megan!

Kingdom Life Coach

I’ve loved to write for as long as I can remember. I made up fantastical worlds of star-crossed lovers in war torn Ireland and imagined life as a homesick soldier hiding in a fox hole. Mr. Jones inspired me in sophomore English when he crowned me the winner of a short story contest!

When I graduated from high school, I wanted to be a broadcast journalist. Of course, I was afraid of the possible catastrophe inclement weather could bring, but I charted a course anyway. I applied to the number one journalism school in the country! And… I didn’t get in. I was crushed. No matter, however, I was about to embark on a life-changing gap year as an exchange student in Spain which was a formative experience that fundamentally grew my spirit and soul.

When I returned to the States I attended a small, private liberal arts college and studied Romance languages. (Sounds dreamy doesn’t it? I can’t complain that I studied abroad three times in three years!) Those travels subsided for a time after I married the love of my life, journeyed with him through parachurch ministry, and ultimately expanded our family through adoption.

At the time, I did what all mid-2000s moms did. I started a blog. I figured it would be a reporting medium to share with friends and family about all things adoption. Home study updates. Logistics. Travel itineraries. I didn’t realize it would rapidly evolve into my own form of therapy as I tried to make sense of disappointments, confusion, and God’s hand in trauma. The more I wrote, the more I came alive.

After enough people asked if I had ever thought about writing a book, I threw my hat in the ring and published my first book in 2015. The experience of writing captivated my attention like nothing else! I didn’t know if I would write again, but I listened to the Holy Spirit and He directed my steps to write the second offering* in 2023. Will there be more? Stay tuned and stay connected with me. There will possibly, probably…definitely be more to come!
